چکیده
Abstract Objectives This study was designed to evaluate echocardiographic findings in patients with obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) cognitive impairment and compare it the control group. Methods Sixty-seven OSA 52 group of healthy controls were evaluated prospectively by Mini-Mental State Examination questionnaire trans-thoracic echocardiography. Results The diastolic dysfunction 19.6% ( P = .002) 18.4% .016) more prevalent compared mean tricuspid regurgitant gradient, pulmonary artery size, transmitral A velocity higher, but right ventricular peak systolic velocity, annular plane excursion (TAPSE), fractional area change (FAC), E/A ratio, E’ lower than Comparing without disorders, showed significant differences regarding size atrium, TAPSE FAC < .05). Conclusions need accurate cardiac examinations, early diagnosis, interventions prevent progression dysfunction, especially older male higher BMI impaired cognition. Further studies are needed determine exact link between OSA, obesity, physiology.

Re: Sexual function in female patients with obstructive sleep apnea.
INTRODUCTION Obstructive sleep apnea is defined as repetitive (≥5/hour) partial or complete cessation of breathing during sleep. Whereas obstructive sleep apnea is often considered to be associated with sexual problems in men, studies concerning effects of obstructive sleep apnea on female sexual function and distress are sparse. AIM To investigate sexual dysfunction and sexual distress in fe...
متن کاملSpectral indices of cardiac autonomic function in obstructive sleep apnea.
Spectral analysis of heart rate variability (HRV) is useful as a noninvasive means of assessing autonomic function in patients with obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). However, standard spectral measures, such as the ratio of low-frequency to high-frequency power (LHR) and normalized high-frequency power (NHFP), can be confounded by the abnormal breathing patterns that occur during sleep. To circumv...
متن کاملCorrected QT dispersion and cardiac sympathetic function in patients with obstructive sleep apnea-hypopnea syndrome.
STUDY OBJECTIVES Hypoxemia increases corrected QT dispersion (QTcD), which is the difference between the maximum and minimum QT intervals and is a strong risk factor for cardiovascular mortality. The aim of this study was to investigate the QTcD in patients with obstructive sleep apnea-hypopnea syndrome (OSAHS), and the relationship between the QTcD and (123)I-metaiodobenzylguanidine (MIBG) car...
متن کاملSleep Architecture in Patients With Primary Snoring and Obstructive Sleep Apnea
Introduction: This study aimed to investigate sleep architecture in patients with primary snoring and obstructive sleep apnea. Methods: In this study, we analyzed polysomnographic data of 391 clients who referred to Sleep Disorders Research Center (SDRS). These people were classified into three groups based on their Apnea-Hypopnea Index (AHI) and snoring; control, Primary Snoring (PS), and Obs...

Is OSA Associated with a Decline in NCF? The data regarding associations between OSA and a NCF decline are mixed. Some of the limitations of evaluating existing studies in the literature are that a majority have small sample sizes, a diverse group of NCF tests and protocols have been reported, and in the case of controlled trials, different shams or placebos have been utilized. There are severa...
